Position Summary
The Accounts Manager supports the delivery of integrated communications programs by coordinating projects, managing day-to-day client activities, and contributing to the successful execution of account strategies. This role serves as a key client contact, ensuring work is delivered on time, on budget, and to a high standard while building strong relationships with clients and internal teams. The Manager contributes to account growth opportunities and continues to develop strategic communications expertise through increasingly complex client work.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Serve as a day-to-day client contact, responding to requests, providing updates, and ensuring work progresses efficiently.
- Build strong working relationships with clients and internal stakeholders through responsiveness, professionalism, and reliability.
- Support senior team members in delivering strategic communications counsel and recommendations.
- Prepare presentations, reports, and other media materials that support account objectives.
- Conduct research, benchmarking, environmental scanning, and analysis to support strategic recommendations.
- Draft and refine communications materials, including stakeholder messaging, press releases, web content, social content, briefing materials, and reports.
- Successfully pitch ideas to clients and media.
- Monitor media, industry, stakeholder, and policy developments that may affect client programs.
- Contribute to the successful execution of communications initiatives by ensuring deliverables are aligned with objectives, timelines, and quality standards.
- Coordinate internal and external workflows across account teams and specialist functions.
- Maintain project plans, schedules, status reports, and documentation.
- Monitor timelines and deliverables, escalating issues and risks when appropriate.
- Help ensure projects remain organized, efficient, and aligned to client expectations and hours.
- Identify opportunities to enhance client programs and bring ideas forward to senior team members.
- Support proposal development, pitch materials, and business development activities.
- Assist with reporting and measurement activities that demonstrate value and client impact.
- Contribute to client retention through strong service delivery and proactive support.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Business, or a related field.
- 4–6 years of progressive experience in a communications, public relations, stakeholder engagement, or agency account management.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple client projects and coordinate cross-functional teams.
- Experience managing multiple client projects and supporting strategic planning efforts.
- Demonstrated experience producing communications materials and coordinating campaign deliverables.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Solid understanding of integrated communications, digital engagement, media relations, and stakeholder communications.
- Strong project management, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to build effective relationships with clients and team members.
- Comfort working in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
- Proficiency with project management tools, MS Office/Google Workspace, and digital communication platforms.
- Proactive, resourceful, and solutions focused.
- Strong sense of accountability and professionalism.
- Collaborative team player with a positive attitude.
- Eager to learn, grow, and take on increasing leadership responsibility.
Workplace Requirements and Conditions:
- Hybrid – three (3) days per week in office
